Resolutions for Your Teeth

A new year means a list of resolutions and goals, many often having to do with being healthy. We all know we are supposed to eat healthier, exercise more and get adequate sleep, but how often do we put our oral hygiene on that resolutions list? Here are just a few things to consider when you think about having a healthier mouth in 2014:

  • Get a new toothbrush. To effectively clean teeth, you need to replace toothbrushes every 3-4 months.
  • Brush twice a day for 2 minutes. Create health habits that lead to better breath and fewer cavities.
  • Floss once a day.
  • Keeping those other parts of your resolutions-eating a healthy diet and drinking more water actually help keep your teeth strong and healthy too!
  • Be sure to see your dentist-every 6 months is a good plan.
